VISION (STRATEGY) FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE REPUBLICAN IN SERVICE TEACHER TRAINING INSTITUTE UNTIL

This document describes a high-level meeting between representatives of the Republic of Tajikistan and the European Union, held on 20 January 2026 in Brussels. The meeting involved the Deputy Minister of Labour, Migration and Employment of Tajikistan and a representative of the EU headquarters.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss further cooperation in the framework of preparing a grant-based EU Budget Support Programme focused on vocational education and training (VET) in Tajikistan. Both sides reviewed progress achieved under ongoing initiatives, particularly projects related to technical assistance in education and labour and the EU Budget Support Programme for 2023–2025.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the results achieved so far and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing cooperation. Emphasis was placed on strengthening institutional capacity, improving the quality and relevance of vocational education, and aligning training systems with labour market needs. The meeting highlighted the EU’s continued support for reforms in Tajikistan’s VET sector as part of broader socio-economic development efforts.
